The Silver Linings Playbook Movie Review

The Silver Linings Playbook Movie Review

The Silver Linings Playbook was a very enjoyable albeit slightly dark romance movie. How's that for a description? Let me add, it was definitely funny, too. I really enjoyed it and so did my husband.

The Silver Linings Playbook seemed perfectly cast. It stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, both of whom I thought were brilliant  and  the supporting cast, which includes Robert De Niro, Jackie Weaver, Chris Tucker and Anupam Kher, was pretty darn good, too.

It was good enough to make me want to read the 2008 book of the same name by Matthew Quick.  I'll be adding it to my reading list.

Note that The Silver Linings Playbook is an R rated movie for some sexual content and nudity. It's a feel-good movie but in order to feel good you will first have to travel some highs and lows with the characters as they come to terms with their issues.

Roger Ebert says, "Silver Linings Playbook is so good, it could almost be a terrific old classic." I'm inclined to agree.

See you
at the movies!
