Could Lady Rosamund be Lady Edith's Mother?

Are you still thinking about Downton Abbey even though Season 4 is over? Many of us are! We're unsatisfied with the end of this season and we know the wait is going to be endless for Season 5.

I just read a blog post from Julia's Bookbag.  Julia is clearly as caught up in Downton as the rest of us are. As a matter of fact, to prolong the fun, Julia took a trip...to a local British food shop where picked up a wonderful variety of British foods.  Doesn't that sound like fun? I just might have to do that myself.

On her post, Julia refers to another discussion about the possibility of Lady Rosamund being Lady Edith's mother, which I will admit I had NOT thought of but which definitely would explain a lot, including the differences between Lady Mary, Lady Sybil and Lady Edith who I always thought were totally different for sisters.

What do you think? Do you think Lady Cora is really Lady Edith's mother or might there be a family secret here?

Buy Pharrell Williams' Grammy Hat

If you caught the Grammys in February, you likely saw Pharrell Williams and the buzz he created with his hat but did you know that Pharrell wore it for a reason?

He wore the hat in tribute to the late singer Malcolm Mclaren of the Sex Pistols. The hat was featured in the video from that group for the song Buffalo Girls.

The mountain hat, as it is called, was designed by Vivienne Westwood.

Check it out in this short video and then hop on over to eBay by clicking here to see what it is selling for at auction...

When you see how much the hat is selling for, you will be pleased to know that the proceeds are going to charity.

UPDATE: Pharrell Williams' hat sold on March 2, 2014, for $44,100 as shown in this eBay screenshot:

Downton Abbey: Team Gillingham or Team Blake?

As we approach the end of Downton Abbey Season 4, the internet and indeed perhaps the whole North American continent is abuzz with talk about Lady Mary's potential suitors, which has me wondering...

Who would you pick?

Team Gillingham or Team Blake?

Here is what the cast of Downton Abbey thinks:

If you've a preference, do tell. If you tell, I will, too and rightly or wrongly, I have a definite preference.

And of course, we have not touched on the subject of how long after the parting of Matthew is appropriate for Mary to begin looking for a new husband...

See you on Sunday
because my Sundays
are spent at Downton!

Harry Potter Triwizard Tournament Shirt

What Harry Potter fan doesn't recognize the importance of this Triwizard Tournament shirt?

It represents the Quidditch team jersey worn in the movie Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by the Hogwarts' House Gryffindor team .

If you want to feel like you are Harry Potter or one of his team mates about to compete in the Triwizard cup, you might want to add this one to your collection.

I went looking for a good picture of Harry and his teammates at the Triwizard Cup. I found some great images of the Quidditch team but I could not find one that gives you a really good image of the shirt. However,  I know you'll enjoy seeing the Gryffindor team in these images anyway! The first three are pictures from the movie, I believe, and the second three are images that you can buy from Amazon.com by clicking on the pictures. (Or you can simply click here to browse Amazon's more than 3,000 posters from the Harry Potter movies.)

Anyway, back to the Triwizard Cup shirt. We don't actually own it though we would like to. We have found it available on eBay here. We have, however, read that it runs big so if you choose to buy it, you might want to consider that fact and order a size smaller than normal or, at the very least make sure that the seller entertains the possibility of an exchange. Buying from an eBay seller who gives the measurements would also be a great idea.

Disney's Maleficent POP Funko

An upside to the creation of a movie from a subject that has been previously covered by Disney is the fact that there are already a number of wonderful souvenirs or mementos that you can add to a collection related to the upcoming movie.

A case in point is this Maleficent POP Funko.  Maleficent, for those who do not know, is the Disney villain from the movie Sleeping Beauty.

This figure is a small, vinyl version of the evil witch at just 3 and 3/4 inches tall. She is part of a large series of Disney characters that have been made into Funko dolls. You can choose just one Funko or you can choose to collect all of the Disney villains or any Disney theme you might think of. I suppose there are even people out there collecting all of these toys!
