Andie Anderson (played by Kate Hudson) enters in a beautiful yellow cocktail dress designed by the film’s costume designer Karen Patch to work perfectly on Kate and with the Isadora Diamond. She looks lovely but when she puts on the Isadora Diamond, she is simply stunning. Really, I don’t think I will ever forget that moment. The necklace suited the dress and Andie perfectly.
The 87-carat diamond pendent Andie wore was designed for Kate Hudson to wear in this movie and is worth 5 million dollars although, it is said that she used a 'stunt double' in the movie that was worth $10,000. As an interesting aside, IMDB reports that the movie used $14,200,000 worth of jewels in How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days.
The second necklace that I found, shown below, is also pretty but not still not quite as chunky as the one that Kate Hudson wore. See Gem Stone King's necklace here on Amazon.
Finally, I found this beautiful replica on Etsy. (As shown below.) It is not exactly the same because the yellow stone is oval shaped instead of square or diamond shaped but it is pretty similar. However, apparently it is not only similar to Kate Hudson's Isadora Diamond necklace but also to one that Lady Gaga wore to the Oscars. This necklace is available on Etsy from Staged Jewels by clicking right here.
Whether you chose to wear a perfectly coordinating yellow dress to look exactly like Andie or you pair it with a black dress, is up to you and, of course, if you love a good romantic comedy, that is reason enough to see check out Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson in How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days.
See you
at the movies!
Brenda
