The Lost Valentine: Hallmark's 2011 Valentine Movie

The Lost Valentine: Hallmark's 2011 Valentine Movie

The Lost Valentine, Hallmark's new Valentine's Day movie stars Betty White and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Apparently, Betty White has always really wanted to do a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie and finally has her opportunity in this war story.

The Lost Valentine is airing very soon and I am excited because it really does look good and because it is NOT airing on the Hallmark channel, which means that people who do not receive the channel will be able to watch it!

Curiously, The Lost Valentine is often mistakenly called The Last Valentine, which is the actual name of the book written by James Pratt that this movie is based on.

Duel in the Sun Movie Review

Duel in the Sun Movie Review
Whoever heard of a western movie that was called a torrid tale of passion? Not I, that is for sure although I would be the first to admit I am not very familiar with many western movies.

I was challenged to write a page about the 1947 western movie Duel in the Sun,  which starred the legendary Gregory Peck as well as Joseph Cotten, Jennifer Jones, Lionel Barrymore, Herbert Marshall and Lillian Gish.

I learned a lot.

Including the fact that this movie was over-the-top and probably way ahead of its time.

Producer David O. Selznick poured a lot of effort into this movie, hoping for big things. However, the combination of sexual content on screen and behind the scenes as well as the huge budget spent in trying to create an epic western, may have helped keep this movie from becoming another huge success for Selznick.

Despite the facts that this movie is contentious and over the top, people still enjoy it. Order your copy from Amazon by clicking right here.

Tron The Original Classic Movie Blu-ray and DVD

Tron The Original Classic Movie on Blu-ray and DVD

MOVIE RUMOUR: The first Tron movie arrived on Blu-ray and DVD in March or April, 2011. Renamed Tron: The Original Classic, it also featured new cover artwork.

The HDR Room reported that Disney had been hard at work restoring the first Tron movie and that it appears that Tron would be sold on Blu-ray with the DVD version as one of Disney's typical combo packages.

Of course, you did not have to wait long for Tron: The Legacy to be available on Blu-ray. It was released on Blu-ray and DVD at approximately the same time.

Tron: 2 Movie Collection on Blu-ray Disc

The original, classic Tron movie is available by clicking here to Amazon. However, if you do not already own the second movie, you might rather own the Tron 2 Movie Collection on Blu-ray disc, which is readily available here.

Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown Movie Review

Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown Movie Review
Poor old Charlie Brown. If you have seen Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown, you will know exactly what I am referring to. If you have not seen it and care about not knowing the outcome, then I recommend you not visit my review page. (But there are no spoilers on THIS page so for now you are safe.)

If you have seen Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown by Charles M. Schulz I would love to hear what you think about what happened to Charlie Brown in this animated children's classic.

I was shocked.

I look forward to your visit and hearing whether you were horrified, too or whether you think it was no big deal and that Charlie Brown was up to the task.

And in case you were wondering, Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown is NOT available on blu-ray disc.

The Peanut Butter Solution (1985) A Cult-Favorite Movie

The Peanut Butter Solution (1985) A Cult Movie

Sometimes I stumble across a rare movie with a background that takes me by surprise. The Peanut Butter Solution is one of them.

As it turns out, this movie has a legion of followers...people who watched it in the 1980s and were scared and never totally able to forgot about it. However, many of them forgot the name of the movie and spent years telling their friends and family about a movie where this boy paints his bald head with peanut butter to see if his hair will grow back. They don't actually reconnect with the movie until they google "movie with boy who uses peanut butter to grow hair" or something along those lines.

Then they are surprised and delighted to find The Peanut Butter Solution and realize that they weren't making this crazy story up and that the movie actually does exist.

Unfortunately for those who remember this scary family comedy fondly, it is only available on VHS video tape. Yes, that's right no DVD and definitely no blu-ray versions are available.  If you want to own this movie, it will have to be on VHS videotape and a new one will probably be very expensive. You can find The Peanut Butter Solution on eBay here.

How about you? Have you ever heard of The Peanut Butter Solution?

Hallmark's The Odyssey on DVD Bundled With Gulliver's Travels

Hallmark's The Odyssey has finally been re-released on DVD, bundled as a double feature called 'Classic Adventures Collection 2,' and some would say it is about time!  Previously the DVD had been discontinued which drove the price beyond the budgets of most movie buyers.

If you're curious about this 1997 action movie, The Odyssey, which starred Armand Assante, Greta Scacchi, Isabella Rossellini, Bernadette Peters, Vanessa Williams and Christopher Lee, now is your chance and the price, at just $13, is right indeed!

Another reason to consider this Hallmark collection of course is if you are curious about the Hallmark version of Gulliver's Travels because of the release of the 2010 version of of the story.
